On the trail.

  1. Heather, you squeeze the natural world so beautifully and meaningfully through that tiny pupil of your camera. Sometimes, I know that I have touched your photographs, like the sensation of running my palm along the flank of a horse. There is a warm, moving softness, but yet I am aware of a vital force beneath the smooth surface, waiting to unlock me. Your photos can sometimes do that. You feel deeply and passionately thus opening the limits of my personal vision, which I once, unfortunately, took to be the limits of the world. I won't specifically "read" this image as an example of what I'm saying, for you get the general gist of my response to your art. The world, the natural world is much more than a collection of atoms, and so beautifully do your articulate photographs seize upon that blossoming idea. I'm getting too talky again. Ouch!
