Silvery birch.

  1. Again, I like the way you "see", Heather. Most of us would overlook such a view, but you do not. Someone once wrote: "Art does not reproduce what we see; rather, it makes us see." Here you make me "see" these birches, their strength, their texture, their lines, their community, and what I really like is I see these trees as through a peephole, forcing my eye to your focal point: the birches themselves. Most effective shot - you always seem to know what to do with the viewer's eye. I didn't even mention the contrasting lines here. Love your work!

  2. Forgot - congrats! Your first "colour" image on this blog, I do believe. I'm looking forward to you extending your camera vocabulary. Gives you far more opportunities to illustrate your love of nature.

    1. Yes, it is my first colour image here. My first love is black and white, and that's definitely my preference, but sometimes colour is necessary.
