An unsettling and turbulent image - there is a sense of ominous movement in the heavy clouds, all set off against the black and barely visible landscape. I like the tree on the right clawing at the collapsing sky. Nicely balanced.
Just printed this fine image and I must comment on the depth created. It's quite pronounced in the printed photo. Curiously and most effectively, the threatening clouds push out towards the viewer rolling from the background not only forward but also up towards the top of the frame. All this turmoil is precipitously about to entomb the viewer. The contrasting tones in black and white also further this visual effect. It would be so easy to let the camera flatten this subject and minimize its impact, but you deftly sidestep the trap and bring life to the shot. You've learned to see just what the camera sees, understanding its literal visual nature, its inherent weaknesses. What was the f-stop? F-16? F-11?
