Loved this strange image. You've taken away context, thus forcing a new awareness upon the viewer - something I've always loved in some photographs. You give me your eyes. I do not see the familiar and so I'm asked to stretch, to "see" these logs from a different perspective. I "see" logs/trees that I've not perhaps seen before. I even impose a narrative upon the scene - that distinctive brown popular (?) log splitting the group is mysteriously rich in symbol. You didn't put it there, did you? Lovely texture to this image, as well.
