Fall and ice.

  1. Love the photo; admire the sentiment. At first glance, this wind-blown, iced, and shredded leaf seems to float in mid-air. Although punched by the inevitability of climate and time, this single leaf, in fact, grasps rather tenaciously to the tree of life, still chewing sunshine and running red energy through its veins, its apparent delicacy hiding its persistent strength. This leaf has will, character, backbone, grit. With the warm sun covering its thin back, I can see it, invincible, peering directly into the cold winds of approaching winter. Interesting metaphorical duality here - "fall and ice" vs spring and sun, hope against despair. A photograph for all seasons, your inspiring buoyancy shining through. Your thoughtful photographs, although realistic, are never entirely cheerless.
