Sunrise, Marks Lake.

  1. What an absolutely gorgeous photograph! It is so soft, so warm, so peaceful, so deeply quiet. I feel as if I've stepped into the frame, my senses stirred and alive: the cool morning [sunset?] temp, the sweet smells, the wet air on my skin, the narrow colour spectrum, the dark rim of the trees mirrored in the dark water. The water itself, full with the forest and becoming that very forest, is heavy and black, full of mystery. It is so very easy to touch this image and be provoked on a sensory level. The single branch in the foreground, also mirrored in the water, supplies depth and visually the scene quickly becomes magnetic. It would be impossible for anyone to walk by and merely glance at this photograph.Though separate elements of nature, here the trees and the lake and the sky fuse into one, symbolizing all of nature, all of nature unified. It is such a beautiful shot of a beautiful natural setting. On many levels, an affecting image, Heather.

    1. Thank you Ian :)
This is one of my new favourites. I was very lucky to be in this place at just the right time (yes, it is sunrise).
Glad you found much to enjoy in this.
