Tiny flame in the snow.

  1. Lovely pointed photograph, stripped of non-essentials and speaking loudly - sharp focal point, contrasting colours, primal image, meaningful symbol. A kind of "tiny flame" to keep back the cold and dark of the Northern winter. Yes, green growth will one day break the bonds of deep snow and ice. Appropriate posting date as well - the last day of winter. I'm viewing this pic the first day of spring, of course. Besides the obvious pleasurable photographic elements, I like that you are always thinking in your photos, and asking the same of me. I'm invited to step into the photo and move around and seek out an experience and then step out of the image with that discovery within. The image has the potential to change me. To me that is photography and you're a photographer, Heather, of some caliber.

  2. Postscriptum: On television tonight, the weather person just remarked, "This winter has been the coldest winter Thunder Bay has had for 35 years." Thanks again for the little green flame image. It was most welcome.
