Shadows

  1. Creative photo! Our eyes quickly go to the black branch in the top of the frame, sharply drawn against the white snow - pleasing effect of contrast, which the eye inherently enjoys, as well as the gentle interplay of the background shadows. But, then we realize the focal point of the shot is not the branch itself at all but its doppelganger, its ghost image softly etched upon the snow in the bottom of the frame. I like this effect, for it forces us to view the branches from another perspective, a perspective I suspect most of us would have missed. Your eye knows how to uncover the unexpected, the half-hidden beauty of nature. "Good" photography should ask us to see the world with other eyes never letting the imagery of nature, for example, become stale or flat. Thanks for the visual experience here.
